I know I can't do it soon enough, but someday I really hope to go there. Hmm, I dunno. The sudden interest came after I read a back-issue of Preview magazine which featured. . . tadah! BATANES! Geez. And I've always wondered how the Ivatan people survive that stormy place. Of course, we've all heard about their stone houses and those walis-tambo-like headgear they sport (or not?) - not unlike any other place in the country, which makes it more interesting to go to ;D Not the easiest trip to plan though, why?

1. It's not easily accessible. So far, I know that I could only go there by PLANE and not all companies offer a trip to Batanes (as of now, I know only SeaAir has flights to the place) PLUS the trips are rare. . .

2. . . . and COSTLY! SUPER! I've just looked at the fares in flyseaair.com and it would cost me a whopping Php11,670 for the round trip tickets! and the trips are only during Tuesdays and Saturdays. Take your pick.

3. I heard that the weather there is v. unpredictable. So anytime, your flight (to or fro) can be delayed. Lucky if you're flying FROM Manila - but if you're flying from there. . . Hmmrrr, GLUCK! :)) It might take days, or even weeks, before the next plane home comes. :D

4. The upside is, lodging is relatively cheap. :D Accdg to batanesonline.com, accomodation can reach up to 1,500 a day ONLY, to share pa! :D

-- I heard that lobster is a regular there. Sosyal. Haha.

SOOOOOO. . . Hmmmmm. . . Maybe I should start saving up at least TWENTY thousand for this trip! Haha. Geez. I really can't make it now. =)) But the clock is ticking, hope to make it before global warming starts to engulf the tiny island. :| Wish me luckkkK! :D

Come and support us! :) Spread the word!
See you there! :)

3rd-Mar-2009 09:46 pm - FU FX Driver
Yes, long time no blog. So i would just like to express myself in this bum night of mar 3, 2009 when I need not worry about any school stuff, at least for the moment.

I would just like to vent out my frustrations through an analogy.

. . It usually costs 10 bucks from Taft to UN, so when we gave a hundred (cuz we dont have a smaller bill) we expected a change of 80 pesos. Tama diba 100-(2X10)=80, but he gave us just 70 pesos meaning he charged us for P15 each. We asked: "Diba 10 each lang?" And with a rising tone, he answered: "Wala akong barya eh!!" (Like it was our fault, later on we found out that he has a stash of 5 peso coins on the dashboard just above the radio WTF!) e di my friend said to just wait for someone to ride and pay so that we can have our exact change. Then when someone did pay, we said:

Joma and i: so yan kuya may sukli na
Driver: piso nalang sukli nyo, wala akong piso.
Ako: Ha? E 10 diba?
Driver: 12 isa eh.
Ako: Edi kung 12, may kulang pa kami 6.
Driver: 15 nga isa!
Ako: ANO? E kakasabi mo lang 12 eh.
Driver: *padabog na nagbigay ng 5 piso*

PUTANGINAAAA! Hindi namin first time sumakay ng FX!

If you're thinking (yes, you) that it's just what, 10 peso bucks, that's not the point. Yes, it's a small amount of change pero what are specific rates of FARES for?

YUN LANG.

Teka, anong analogy dito?
15th-Feb-2009 09:58 am - All of my favorite things :D

J has never really failed in making special days. . . EXTRA special, just like what he did yesterday, Valentine's Day. :)

I did not know what to expect because I refused to know the plan and insisted that everything should be spontaneous (on my part, at least). In other words, SURPRISE. :)) And so, I was really feeling anxious the whole morning, i heaved heavy sighs thinking. . . what if the surprise is "there is no surprise" because of how things ended up the day before? No text, no phone calls, no signs. Geez, at some point I just did not want to go out anymore because I was feeling so bad.  =)) (I was nearing to tears, I swear! Haha.) So I did not take a bath yet. I did my papers and planned to watch Slumdog Millionaire after (all out of bitterness!). Then, a sigh of relief came after a red CRV stopped in front of our house and there he was. :)

2PM. No fancy flowers on hand (I'm not much of a fan), but a mini Zara plastic bag instead, not containing Zara stuff but a handful of my favorite edible stuff: strawberries (and cream), chocolates, pancakes and paella he made himself! (Plus a love letter! He has always been the more thoughtful one.) And yes, I was AWW-ed! ♥ I was still wearing my PJ's so he waited for about an hour for me to prep up (just as I planned! Haha.) before  we dashed off  to Rockwell. Ate merienda at Oliver's and watched "Push" afterwards. :) Nachos galore, love it! :) And the story doesn't end there yet ;)

He brought me to this gourmet restaurant which I found, again, in clickthecity.com, somewhere in Salcedo, Makati - APARTMENT 1B. :D (I did not know that he keeps in mind the senseless things I tell him! Haha.) Even though we have no reservations, we were still able to secure outdoor seats. :) The food was. . . SO GOOD!!! :D Especially their Baked Samosas!  (Cheese! I love!) :D  Ambience, 5 stars too! Oh but of course, the company was even better. Hehe. :) We went to the Fort afterwards to meet my single ladiesss and we partied (or drank) the night away at Piedra. :) (Thanks for the rose, Pula! :P)

Btw, I found out that PLAN A was to bring me to the Hot Air Balloon thingiemajig in Clark with the family :)) but since I would not wake up early daw, he chose PLAN B instead. Have I known earlier. . . I would really like to go to PLAN A just for the experience! HAHAHA. But, hey, PLAN B was not bad. Not bad at all. Indeed, it was. . .perfect. And I loved every minute of it. :) THANK YOU J! :D You know i love you! ♥ xoxo

Too bad, we didn't have pictures (except for the ones JJ took), but it's all in my head anyway :D (and just in case, i'm blogging it, so I won't forget :D)

6th-Feb-2009 11:31 pm - Globe. Sun. :D
For those who have been texting me through my Globe phone, I am currently not using it. *broken phone* ;)

You can reach me through my Sun number ;)
